Leaky Cadillac motor mount

Customers may complain about an oil leak at the front of 2009-2010 Cadillac DTS (V8) and 2009-2010 Buick Lucerne (V8) vehicles. Upon inspection, it may seem that the front motor mount (V8 engines only) may appear to be leaking at the crimp point where the rubber meets the metal can of the mount.

If the vehicle was built between April 2009 to early December 2009, do not immediately replace the motor mount. The fluid that is seen around the crimp may be residual oil from the mount manufacturing process.

Place a shop rag behind the motor mount and use compressed air to blow off any residual oil. Road test to verify that the motor mount is not leaking. Naturally, if leaking is present, replace the mount.
