Caddy Has Cylinder Deactivation Glitch
This bulletin applies to 2017 – 2018 Cadillac ATS, CT6, CTS and XT5 vehicles. Some customers may comment that the MIL is on. The technician may find DTC P3409 and P3433 set.
This condition may be caused by cylinder 2 deactivation solenoid oil control valve circuit and/or cylinder 5 deactivation solenoid oil control valve circuit. These codes may be active or stored in history.
To correct this condition, if the vehicle was built between April 13, 2017, and Aug. 7, 2017, it will be necessary to replace both right and left bank cylinder deactivation solenoids (AFM/OCV). If the vehicle was built outside of this date range, check for any terminal issues at the connector.
