Mazda Notes Code Reveals Exhaust Leak

This bulletin applies to 2013-2016 Mazda CX-5 vehicles. Some vehicles may exhibit a check engine light on with DTC P013A:00 stored in memory. This code refers to HO2S slow response during transition from rich to lean. This concern may be caused by an impact from a speed bump or other source, causing a deformation of the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the TWC catalytic converter.

If a leak is detected from the gasket, replace it with a modified part. Replace both flange nuts with new nuts, and be sure to torque the flange nuts to 37.6 ft.-lbs. (51 Nm). The new gasket is available as P/N PEY5-40-305. Flange nuts are P/N 9994-61-000.
