This shows the proper orientation of the two suspect oil feed tubes.

This bulletin applies to 2018 Jeep Compass vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine and 9-speed 9HP48 automatic transmission and built on or after Jan. 11, 2018, and on or before Jan. 19, 2018. The transmission valve body may have damaged oil feed tubes.

  1. Remove the valve body from the transmission.

  2. Remove the two oil feed tubes and inspect for damage.

  3. Are one or both of the oil feed tubes damaged/broken? If yes, replace the transmission. If no, replace the oil feed tubes with O-rings, and replace ALL tube O-rings  on the remaining six feed tubes. Reassemble and test drive.
