Audi Says It's Not a Throttle Body Glitch

Order Reprints

This bulletin applies to 2018 Audi A3 and 2019-2020 A3, Q3 and TT vehicles. One of the following DTCs may be stored in the engine control module (ECM): P050A00 (cold start idle air control system performance) and/or P050700 (idle speed too high).

On some vehicles, it is possible that the throttle body is unable to lower the engine idle during catalyst warm-up. This is caused by incorrect basic settings for the throttle body stored in the ECM, not due to a product defect.

Erase the DTC(s) stored in the ECM, J623 (address word 0001). Using Guided Fault Finding, perform the text plan for throttle body adaption.

Do not replace the throttle body.
