Subaru Has a Clutch Squeak

Order Reprints
1) Grease application at the cylinder rod pivot. 2) Grease application at the fork pivot point. 3) Lubrication at the fork claws.

This bulletin serves as a reminder on how to service the clutch release lever/mechanism when addressing customer concerns of a squeak-type noise when depressing the clutch pedal.

Inspect for any abnormal or excessive wear of the release fork/lever, pivot points, operating cylinder rod and/or the pivot ball. Replace any worn components as needed.

Always use the recommended grease, Conoco-Phillips Multiplex Red #2 grease or Nichimoly Grease N-130. The Subaru P/N is 000041000.
