Aftermarket Accessory Can Cause Mazda No-Start

Mazda no-start
A GPS tracker device wired into the power window main switch can cause a no-start, with a red key warning light and flashing amber start/stop button light.

Mazda notes that an engine no-start and a blurry rear view monitor display can be caused by the use of an aftermarket device such as an accessory cell phone charger, GPS tracker, etc. that creates excessive electrical noise. The noise may interrupt some of the vehicle electrical systems.

Examples of vehicles that may be affected include 2014-2018 Mazda3, 2014-2018 Mazda6, 2016-2019 CX-3, 2013-2018 CX-5, 2016-2019 CX-9 and 2016-2019 MX-5.
