Give the Compass a Brake

This bulletin applies to 2012-2013 Jeep Compass models. A clicking or rubbing noise may be heard from the rear wheels at low speeds, primarily at the left rear wheel.

1. Drive the vehicle with all electrical functions off, all windows open and the parking brake engaged to the second click-up.

2. Drive the vehicle forward about 15 yards at a speed of no more than 8 kph.

3. Drive the vehicle 15 yards in reverse at the same speed.

4. If the clicking or rubbing noise is heard, replace the rear parking brake shoe hold-down pin(s) in the noisy wheel(s). The new brake shoe hold-down pin is available as P/N 68159650AB.
