Example of detent spring detached from the manual shift lever (transmission pan removed for visual aid).

This bulletin applies to 2003-2015 Toyota 4Runner, 2007-2014 FJ Cruiser, 2003-2015 Land Cruiser, 2005-2015 Sequoia, 2005-2015 Tacoma and Tundra vehicles equipped with a five- or six-speed automatic transmission.

The purpose of this bulletin is to provide information regarding transmission and/or park neutral position switch installation. If the manual shift lever is rotated prior to installing the park neutral position switch, the detent spring may become detached from the manual shift lever. If the detent spring becomes detached from the shift lever, remove the spring and reinstall onto the shift lever.

This example shows the detent spring in proper place on the shift lever (again, transmission oil pan removed for ease of viewing).
