Hyundai and Kia are recalling more than 550,000 cars and minivans in the U.S. due to a turn signal issue.
An issue with 2015-2017 Hyundai Sonatas and 2015-2017 Kia Sedonas can cause the blinker to flash in the opposite director as the driver intends, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Hyundai says the issue may be caused by software in a junction box improperly interpreting signals. No known crashes or injuries have occurred as a result of the defect.
Kia owners will begin receiving notification letters for repair starting Nov. 12, with Hyundai owners receiving theirs starting Nov. 19.
