High Idle Plagues Ford Ranger

This bulletin is for some 2007-2010 Ford Ranger vehicles built on or before February 1, 2010, and equipped with a 2.3L engine and automatic transmission.

Some 2007-2010 Ford Ranger vehicles built on or before Feb. 1, 2010, and equipped with a 2.3L engine and automatic transmission may exhibit higher than expected engine idle speeds of 1,500-2,400 RPM at cold start-up. Manual transmission-equipped vehicles may exhibit a similar high idle when the clutch pedal is depressed.

Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using IDS release 64.06 and higher.
