This bulletin applies to 2012-2017 Chevy Orlando vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine and an MH8 transmission. The warning light may be on, accompanied by diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U0101 (lost communication with the transmission control module (TCM).

Check the underhood fuse block for damaged terminals or poor terminal fit and mispositioned fuses in the fuse block. Inspect the TEHCM grounds. Refer to the service manual automatic transmission controls schematics to determine the ground identification (G106, G107, etc.), then the master electrical component list to determine the ground location.

Powers and grounds should always be load-checked to make sure the circuits are able to work properly. Check the harness for rubbing through or any sharp objects, mainly on top of the transmission where the harness can contact a sharp area on the block. Inspect transmission connector pins for damaged terminals or poor terminal fit. After the inspection is complete, reconnect using dielectric grease.
