This bulletin applies to 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport/RVR and 2016 Lancer vehicles. Fluid seepage may be detected at the Smart Brake Support (SBS) hydraulic unit.

If during diagnosis you suspect fluid leakage from the area of the anti-lock brake system (ABS0 hydraulic unit, before replacing any parts, thoroughly clean the fluid residue at the six-line fittings while the brake pedal is applied. If seepage at a line fitting is suspected, slightly loosen the fitting and then re-torque the fitting to manual specification.

After properly torquing the line fittings, recheck for seepage with the brake pedal applied. Do not replace the ABS hydraulic unit for a line fitting concern unless recommended to do so by TechLine.

Also, when replacing a front or rear ABS wheel speed sensor on a 2014-2017 Mirage (for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1201 or C1216) please replace it together with the corresponding wheel hub bearing, even if there is no apparent problem with the bearing.
