Vibration Due to Rusty Bolts for Toyota

Order Reprints

Replace the forward bolts/nuts at the rear cross member with revised fasteners designed to resist corrosion.

This bulletin applies to 2008-2010 Toyota Sequoia vehicles. Under certain driving and road conditions, corrosion may build up on the front bolts of the rear suspension member. This may result in a vibration from the rear of the vehicle while driving.

Newly designed fasteners for the forward mounting location are available to address this condition. The rear fasteners are shielded from possible corrosion due to the different mounting locations and are generally not affected.

Remove the bolts and nuts from the forward position of the rear subframe. Install the new bolts and nuts and torque to 239 ft-lb (324 Nm).
