Tundra Driveshaft Needs Examined

Some two-wheel-drive-equipped 2007-2011 Toyota Tundra trucks may exhibit an odd sound from the rear or a “bump from behind” sensation just before or when accelerating from a stop.

Some two-wheel-drive-equipped 2007-2011 Toyota Tundra trucks may exhibit an odd sound from the rear or a “bump from behind” sensation just before or when accelerating from a stop. Improvements have been implemented on the rear propeller shaft. 

Confirm the noise/complaint.

Place the vehicle on a lift and confirm that all drivetrain mounts are torqued properly. If all fasteners are torqued properly, replace the driveshaft. If fasteners are not torqued properly, apply correct torque values and test drive to see if the concern is eliminated. If the concern remains, replace the driveshaft.
