Some 2016-2018 Toyota Prius vehicles may exhibit multiple conditions such as ABS MIL on, PCS/ICS/LDA/BSM malfunction message. The check engine light may be on, skid light on, with low brake force message and/or brake light inoperative. Typically, more than one condition is present.
Toyota recommends completing the following inspections before a TAS case is created:
- Confirm Stop Lamp Switch adjustment of 0.6mm – 2.6 mm of exposed plunger. If needed, confirm function by swapping SLS into a known good vehicle.
- Confirm Brake Pedal Height and Brake Pedal reserve Distance per the repair manual.
- Confirm that the PM1 connector at the rear bumper is connected. DO NOT disconnect or further inspect the connector.
Once the above items have been confirmed, if the condition persists, stop all work and contact TAS and provide details prior to the repair. It is extremely important that you do not disconnect or further inspect the PM1 connector.
