Four new Pennzoil brand full synthetic motor oils are engineered to meet the requirements of motorists’ engine types and driving styles.
Shell Lubricants says the new motor oils provide complete care for vehicles. The Articles will be available for purchase from select online retailers beginning Nov. 1, 2019.

“Our new Articles offer unbeatable engine protection and performance for driving situations most important to motorists. With fully synthetic Articles made from natural gas, Pennzoil can ensure drivers are protected and confident with industry-leading technology under their hood.”
Pennzoil is the first motor oil made from pure natural gas, not crude. From that 99.5% pure and clear base oil, with fewer impurities than typically found in crude oil, Pennzoil adds its high-performance additives to create Pennzoil Extended Care, Pennzoil Start Stop Protection, Pennzoil Maximum Power and Pennzoil Hybrid.
The company provided the following details on the new motor oils.
Pennzoil Extended Care Full Synthetic motor oil
Designed to help extend engine life, Pennzoil Extended Care Full Synthetic motor oil combats engine aging by providing outstanding engine cleanliness by reducing sludge formation. With industry-leading wear protection, Pennzoil Extended Care provides excellent oxidation stability to protect against oil breakdown and provides enhanced fuel economy3. Pennzoil Extended Care will be available in the following viscosity grades: SAE 0W-20 and SAE 5W-30.
Pennzoil Start Stop Protection Full Synthetic motor oil
Optimized for start and stop driving conditions, Pennzoil Start Stop Protection Full Synthetic motor oil provides unsurpassed wear protection for start/stop driving. Reducing deposits and sludge buildup, Pennzoil Start Stop Protection improves engine performance2, enhances fuel economy and provides wear protection for millions of start and stops. Pennzoil Start/Stop Protection will be available in the following viscosity grades: SAE 0W-20 and SAE 5W-30.
Pennzoil Maximum Power Full Synthetic motor oil
Engineered to help maximize engine performance, Pennzoil Maximum Power Full Synthetic motor oil provides horsepower protection for high performance vehicles. Modern, high performance engines require more protection from extreme temperatures and proper lubrications to protect from loss of power. Pennzoil Maximum Power helps keep engines clean to maintain vehicle performance and provide optimal horsepower protection. Pennzoil Maximum Power will be available in viscosity grade SAE 0W-30.
Pennzoil Hybrid Full Synthetic motor oil
Delivering optimal power efficiency and performance for modern hybrid engines[6], Pennzoil Hybrid Full Synthetic motor oil optimizes energy efficiency and comes in a lower viscosity grade that provides improved fuel economy and unsurpassed wear protection[7]. Pennzoil Hybrid provides faster low temperature flow for easier cold starts and has excellent volatility control to reduce oil consumption. Pennzoil Hybrid will be available in viscosity grade SAE 0W-16.
These additions to the Pennzoil full synthetic motor oil portfolio offer a variety of Articles for motorists to choose from, depending on their driving style and engine type.
