This bulletin applies to the 2011 Subaru Forester equipped with a 2.5L naturally aspirated engine. DTC P0108 may be stored (manifold absolute pressure/barometric pressure circuit high input). There is a possibility that this DTC can be erroneously stored in memory when the starter motor is stopped before the engine starts completely.
This can occur if the ignition key is released before the engine fully starts or if the clutch pedal is released before the engine fully starts. If you determine that the code was set in error, new ECM reprogramming files are now available to prevent a recurrence of the condition.
The new logic was introduced in production in Aug. 3, 2011, starting with VIN B*782579.
