This bulletin applies to 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks equipped with a 3.7L engine and 4-speed 42RLE or 6-speed 65RFE or 6-speed 66RFE automatic transmission. A MIL-on for DTC P0441 (EVAP purge system performance) may be found.
You may find the transmission temperature light on and/or transmission cooler freeze-up. This condition will typically occur when temperatures are below -10 degrees Fahrenheit. The technician may also find that DTC P0218 (transmission high temperature operation) has been set, active or stored (on 6-speed transmissions only).
Updating the PCM software will correct this condition, using release 12.01 or higher.
