5.7 hemi reflash

Jan. 10, 2014

Owners of 2012 Dodge Challenger, Charger or 300 vehicles may experience an MIL on, with DTC P0441 (Evap Purge System Performance has been set active or stored).

This TSB applies to those models equipped with the 5.7L engine built before Jan. 17, 2012 (MDH 0117XX).

Updating the software will correct this condition.

Using a scan tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate diagnostic procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify that all engine systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs other than P0441 are present, record them and repair as necessary before proceeding with programming.

Install a battery charger to ensure that battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the flash process.

  1. Reprogram the PCM with the latest software. Follow the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/TechCONNECT. Refer to Group 8 – Electrical > Electronic Control Modules – Service Information > Module – Powertrain Control > Standard Procedures > PCM/ECM Programming.
  2. After PCM reprogramming, the following must be performed: Clear any DTCs that may have set in other modules due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow the tech to clear them.
  3. Type the necessary information on the “Authorized Modification Label” (available as P/N 04275086AD) and attach the label near the VECI label.
