This TSB applies to a range of 2005-2008 Honda vehicles including Accord, Civic, Civic Hybrid, CR-V, S2000 and Fit. The MIL is on with PGM-FI DTC P1172 (air/fuel sensor 1 circuit out of range) and/or P2A00 (air/fuel sensor 1 circuit range/performance problem).
The probable cause is that the air/fuel sensor is damaged by moisture in the exhaust system during engine warm-up.
Update the ECM/PCM PGM-FI software and then replace the air/fuel sensor. On certain Fit models, the PGM-FI update is not needed (this includes 2007 A/T except Sport from VIN JHMGD3…7S017917 through JHMGD3…7S099999; 2007 Fit A/T Sport VIN JHMGD3…7S017694 through JHMGD3…7S099999; 2007 Fit M/T from VIN JHMGD3…7S017564 through JHMGD3…7S099999 and all 2008 Fit models.
