This bulletin applies to inspecting the EGR valve serial number on certain 2016 Ram 2500, 3500 and 3500/4500/5500 Cab Chassis trucks, and replacement of the EGR valve if on the suspect list. This applies to vehicles built on or before June 10, 2016, and equipped with a 6.4L heavy-duty V8 Hemi.
The customer may comment on an engine hesitation and/or stumbling. Use a mirror to view the EGR valve tag and write the serial number on the repair tag. The EGR serial number replacement list is located on the TechCONNECT home page.
If the EGR valve serial number is on the replacement list, remove and replace with the new EGR valve P/N 04627465AF.
You’ll also need an HER tube gasket P/N 04627612AA.
