Subaru offers a reminder regarding removing and/or tightening the engine oil drain plug on all models to avoid damaging the oil pan.
Pan deformation/denting can easily occur when the tool being used is at an angle that’s out of square/not perpendicular with the centerline of the drain plug.
Apparently the wall thickness and/or hardness of the pan metal can easily deform if the tool is at an angle, so be aware and be careful.
