This bulletin provides information related to an ECM software update to improve starting performance. Perform this update if a vehicle is in for service for an intermittent no-start concern. This applies to 2017-2018 Genesis G90 vehicles equipped with a 5.0 GDI engine.
Note that you must initially perform the GDS ECU update in Auto Mode. If the ECU update starts but then fails in Auto Mode, perform the update in Manual Mode to recover. If battery voltage is below 12 volts as per the GDS warning, select Back and operate the vehicle in Ready Mode for at least 20 minutes to ensure adequate battery state of charge. Turn the ignition back on and then retry the ECU update again.
1. Perform GDS software update.
2. Check for DTCs in all menus and erase any DTCs.
3. Erase the DTC in the BlueLink system and confirm normal vehicle operation
