Some 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX vehicles equipped with all-wheel drive may exhibit a fuel slosh noise primarily when the fuel tank is over ¾-full and when driving at low speeds.
This may be due to fuel moving around in the fuel tank.
Apparently, the fix simply involves replacing the fuel tank straps and bolts. The new straps are available as P/N H2GZ-9054-A and the strap bolts as P/N W718813-S442.
When installing the new straps and bolts, tighten the bolts to 18 +/- 2.8 ft.-lbs. (25 +/- 3.8 Nm).
