Camaro Solenoid Cable

March 31, 2020

This bulletin applies to 2016-2019 Chevy Camaro vehicles equipped with a 6.2L (LT1/LT4) engine. Some customers may comment that the vehicle lost electrical power and/or will not start.

The technician may find the F1RD – 350 amp mega fuse in the rear fuse block X50D has opened. This condition may be caused by circuit 1 shorted to ground at the starter heat shield.

The correction involves replacing the starter solenoid cable. The LT1 (naturally aspirated engine) requires cable P/N 84601785. The supercharged LT4 engine takes P/N 84601786.
