Some 2015-2017 Ford Explorer and Police Interceptor Utility vehicles equipped with a 3.5L Ecoboost engine may surge or hesitate at approximately 50-60 mph in sixth gear under light to moderate loads.
If there are no DTCs stored in the PCM, Ford suggests not to attempt any repairs.
According to the bulletin, this is a “normal” characteristic and will not affect durability of the engine or transmission.
