Some 2015 Ford Escape, CMAX and 2014 Focus vehicles built on October 1, 2014, through November 30, 2014, may exhibit a no-crank condition along with other electrical systems inoperative.

Check the 12-volt battery for loose, damaged or corroded connections. Check battery condition and state of charge.

Does the vehicle display all of the following key on engine off (KOEO) symptoms?

  1. The engine will not crank and electrical accessories will not operate when using the push-to-start button or ignition switch.

  2. The remote key does not lock or unlock the vehicle.

  3. Hazard warning is inoperative.

  4. Interior lighting is inoperative.

  5. Turn signal lamps are inoperative.

  6. Horn is inoperative.

  7. No communication with the HS-CAN or MS-CAN networks with the Integrated Diagnostic System.

If yes to the above, replace the body control module (BCM).
