This bulletin applies to 2017 BMW 2, 3, 4 and 5-series equipped with a B460 engine. A buzzing noise may be heard from the Valvetronic motor when the vehicle is unlocked, before the engine is started, or after the engine is turned off.
There may be no related faults saved in fault code memory.Software in the DME (digital motor electronics) may cause the Valvetronic motor to shudder at the end stop position. Reprogram the vehicle with the latest version of ISTA Next. Always connect a BMW approved battery charger/power supply during programming.
