This bulletin applies to brake pulsation issues on 2014-2016 Corvettes equipped with the heavy-duty brake system (RPO J55). Customers may comment about a pulsation and/or vibration when applying the brakes.
Owners of 2015 - 2016 Corvette Z06 models may comment about a MIL on with a DIC message. Technicians may find DTC P2227 set in history, and the service procedure diagnostics do not repair the vehicle. An outdated calibration is causing false fails in certain vehicles.
Owners of 2014-2016 Chevy Corvettes equipped with a 6.2L LT1 or LT4 engine and automatic transmission may comment about a rattle noise heard from the bell housing area. If service manual diagnosis does not isolate the noise, the culprit may be the flexplate due to distortion or cracking.
This bulletin applies to 2005-2013 Chevy Corvettes (including Z08). The check engine light may be on, with DTC P0171 and/or P0174 set in history or current. If air flow to the air intake/air cleaner assembly is disturbed, these DTCs may be induced.
Some owners of 2016 Chevy Corvettes may comment that the red park brake light on the instrument panel intermittently illuminates. This may be due to the vehicle automatically applying the electronic parking brake (EPB) when the vehicle is not moving.
This bulletin applies to 2001-2013 Chevy Corvettes that present with a P0300 random misfire on a random cylinder. The vehicle may have P0301 – P-308 or P0300 only.
This bulletin applies to 2009-2012 Corvette ZR1 and 2011-2012 Corvette Z06 with Z07 models, all equipped with the ceramic brake package (RPO J57).
Owners of a 2005-2011 Corvette may comment on an intermittent MIL on with a message or indicator that displays reduced engine power. The technician may find DTC P2138 -- accelerator pedal position (APP) -- sensor 1-2 correlation set as current or in history.
According to GM, a “very small number” of 2013 Corvettes may exhibit an abnormal exhaust noise, due to an improperly torqued exhaust joint after the catalytic converter.
