Some owners of 2004-2012 Cadillac Escalade vehicles may comment on a pop or clunk type noise while turning or driving on uneven road surfaces. The noise can be heard and/or felt at either the driver’s or front passenger floor pan areas. Under certain conditions, normal movement between the frame and the #1, #2 or #3 body mounts may cause this noise to occur.
Customers may complain about an oil leak at the front of 2009-2010 Cadillac DTS (V8) and 2009-2010 Buick Lucerne (V8) vehicles. Upon inspection, it may seem that the front motor mount (V8 engines only) may appear to be leaking at the crimp point where the rubber meets the metal can of the mount.
Some customers may complain of an SES light, engine misfire and/or ticking noise. This may be the result of an AFM lifter that unlocks as soon as the engine is started or one that is mechanically collapsed/stuck.
On rare occasions, customers may complain of excessive engine oil consumption and/or blue exhaust smoke. This applies to a number of GM vehicles.
