Some 2011-2012 Ford F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with the 6.7L diesel engine may experience a MIL on with any or all of the following DTCs:
Some 2011-2012 Ford F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with the 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit a MIL on with DTC P0401. This concern may be caused by a restricted exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler core.
Some 2011-2012 Ford F-Super Duty 250-450 trucks equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit a buzzing noise from under the hood while the engine is running and/or for up to 30 seconds after the engine is shut off. This concern may be due to the wastegate control valve vacuum harness causing the wastegate control valve to resonate.
2011-2012 Ford F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit DTC P1291 and/or P1292 due to an internally shorted fuel injector. An internal short in a fuel injector may be caused by the fuel being contaminated with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) or by fuel gelling.
Some 2003-2007 F-Super Duty vehicles, 2003-2005 Excursions and 2004-2010 E-Series vehicles, equipped with a 6.0L diesel engine may exhibit hard start, no start, white smoke, lack of power, running rough condition after cold engine start up, or diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0404, P0470, P0611, P1260 and/or P1378 issues.
Yet another Ford diesel annoyance: Some 2008-2010 Ford F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.4L diesel engine may exhibit a lack of power, with an intermittent DTC P0088 at full operating temperature, during moderate to heavy acceleration. A calibration update is available to address the concern.
