This bulletin applies to 2013 Jeep Wranglers equipped with a 2.8L engine and built before Oct. 10, 2012. The customer may experience a no-crank/no-start condition. Upon diagnosis, the technician may find an active B2204 ECU configuration mismatch. This condition may be caused by the vehicle’s voltage dropping below 4.5 volts for greater than 200 msec. The WCM will lose information from the EEPROM. Lost information can include key programming.
Some 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee models built on or before April 10, 2013, and equipped with Blind Spot Cross Path Detection may experience false warnings or erratic alerts.
Owners of 2011-2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles may complain about a driveline bump during acceleration at about 10 mph. The SEV 4WD message appears and the vehicle shifts from 4WD to 2WD.
This bulletin applies to 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The A/C system may be inoperative or may lose charge. This may be caused by a weld issue inside the service port on the liquid side. This condition is difficult to diagnose since the A/C gauge set (when connected) will cover-up the leak point.
Owners of a 2014 Jeep Compass or Patriot equipped with a 2.0L engine, built on or after Feb. 4, 2012, or before April 14, 2013, and equipped with day time running headlamps, may note that the day time running lamps will not illuminate. No DTCs may be found.
This bulletin applies to 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with the Quadra-Trac II 4WD system or two Speed On Demand Transfer Case. The owner may comment about a bump felt in the driveline while turning from a stop.
Owners of a 2014 Jeep Compass or Patriot built on or after Feb. 4, 2012, and equipped with DRL (day time running headlamps) may comment that the DRL will not illuminate, and the technician may find no DTCs set.
Owners of 2011-2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with a power liftgate and built between March 1, 2010, and March 1, 2012, may complain that the power liftgate does not open or close under power. The technician may find DTC B1882 (power liftgate position sensor 1 circuit) is set.
Owners of some 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with a 6.4L engine may complain that the engine does not have enough power to back a trailer up a steep grade. In addition, they may also indicate that the transmission shifts too early during acceleration while turning.
Owners of 2011-2014 Jeep Compass/Patriot or 2011-2012 Caliber vehicles built on or after Jan. 24, 2010, and on or before Feb. 28, 2014, may complain about a creak or squeak at the front suspension. The noise may be more noticeable during cold temperatures. The noise may go away when temperature rises.
