Some 2009-2010 Mazda CX-9 vehicles may experience an engine stall. The engine will restart and no DTC is stored. This may be caused by an open circuit in the injector wiring harness and/or short circuit to the crankshaft position sensor (CKP) wire shielding near connector 0140-16.
I am sure that by now almost all of us have seen or heard the advertising of Mazda’s Skyactiv technology, but how many of us actually understand what it means? If you’re a full-time Mazda tech or just a Mazda aficionado, then this will just be a lot of review for you. But for the average tech who doesn’t specialize in just Mazda’s latest vehicles, I want to explain what is meant by Skyactiv technology, and what changes it has meant to the engine packages.
Some 2007-2013 Mazda CX-9 (4WD) vehicles may experience front tire spin and/or 4WD/DSC light flashing with no DTCs stored, when driving uphill or taking off from a stop under hard acceleration.
Some 2008 Mazda Tributes equipped with a 2.3L engine and CD4E automatic transmission may exhibit an intermittent crank no-start, hard start or rough running after starting in ambient temperatures above 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Note that this bulletin does not apply to Tribute hybrid models.
Some owners of a 2007-2012 Mazda CX-7 4WD vehicle may notice a vibration from the floor and/or steering wheel during acceleration at approximately 50 mph. To eliminate the concern, the amount of velocity joint grease was increased during production.
This bulletin applies to 2007-2010 Mazdaspeed 3, 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6 and 2007-2010 CX-7 2.3L models.
Some 2005-2006 Mazda Tributes equipped with an automatic transaxle may exhibit a driveline whine at 20-45 mph during light acceleration or deceleration. The sound may be more pronounced if the vehicle is equipped with steel wheels.
This bulletin applies to 2007-2013 Mazda CX9 vehicles. Some vehicles may exhibit inoperation of the power liftgate after battery disconnection and reconnection. Do not replace parts for this concern. The power liftgate will require re-initialization.
Some 2010 Mazda Tribute vehicles may exhibit a MIL on with DTC P0128 (coolant temp below thermostat regulating temperature). This concern may be more pronounced in cold ambient temperatures when the engine is first started after a cold soak, and then driven under light load/low speed conditions with the climate control blower motor setting on high. No drivability issues may be present.
Some 2007-2010 Mazda CX-7 and CX-9 4WD vehicles may experience oil seepage from the rear differential oil seal. While driving in cold weather conditions, water or snow or other road debris may splash over the rear differential and choke the breather, resulting in increased internal pressure and leading to differential seal leaks.
