This technical service bulletin applies to 2011 VW Jetta vehicles. The MIL may be illuminated, with DTC P0410, P0411 or P1423 present.
This notice was offered by VW, regarding intermittent no-starts and the immobilizer system. Additional electronic keys/transponders attached to the same key ring may cause interference problems with the immobilizer system. The message “Immobilizer active” may appear in the dash insert.
This TSB applies to all VW vehicles from 1998-2009. Remote control key issues may include inconsistent operation, inoperative remote control, only the lock button is functional and/or DTC 00956 005 (no or incorrect basic settings/adaptation…result of lost synchronization).
This TSB applies to 2012-2013 VW Passat models. Under certain conditions (speed, force, temperature), the day time running light (DRL) bulb can be subjected to premature failure.
This TSB applies to 2011-2012 VW Golf, Jetta, Jetta Sportwagon and Golf Wagon, and 2012 Passat vehicles, all equipped with the 2.0L diesel engine. DTCs P0671, P0672, P0673 and/or P0674 (Cyl 1-4 glow plug circuits) may be stored in ECM fault memory. An internal hardware issue of the glow plug relay may cause an over-voltage supply to the glow plugs, damaging the heating element.
This TSB applies to all 2008-2013 VW models. The customer may complain about engine rattling noises after starting, or no-starts. This may be the result of incorrect timing chain tension due to chain tensioner issues.
Owners of 2006-2007 VW Rabbit or GTI, or 2005-2007 Jetta vehicles may complain about an intermittent crank or no-crank condition, which may be more evident when hot. This may be caused internally when the steering column electronic systems control module (J527) fails. This causes Terminal 50 to not energize high, which results in a no-crank condition.
This TSB applies to all 2008-2013 VW vehicles. Rough running, engine noise or MIL on with DTCs P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P2279, P1297, P1093 or P2187 stored in the ECM. A faulty PCV valve will allow pressurized intake air back into the valve cover/crankcase. This pressurized air can blow out of several openings. The oil filler cap, air filter and dipstick should first be checked for evidence of oil blowout.
Some owners of 2005-2008 VW Jetta A5, 2006-2008 Rabbit, GTI, Passat and Passat Wagon and 2007-2008 Eos may complain about a rear suspension noise. A rubber lower spring plate is available to eliminate this noise.
Owners of 2008-2010 VW vehicles equipped with the 2.0L engine may complain of a rattling noise from the engine or exhaust area while accelerating from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm. In order to complete proper diagnosis and ensure that the noise is coming from the turbocharger, use the following procedure:
