Electric Power Steering Glitch

Some 2012 Ford Focus vehicles equipped with electric power assisted steering (EPAS) and built on or before 4/19/2011 may exhibit a lack of power steering assist upon engine startup and may exhibit DTC C102D.

Finicky Ford Fails

Some 2010-2011 Ford Focus, 2010 Edge/MKX/F-150/E-Series, 2010-2011 Flex/MKT/Taurus/MKS/Fusion and MKZ vehicles with any of the following engines: 2.0L, 3.5L (excluding GTDI), 3.7L and 4.6L 2V may exhibit DTCs P2111, P2112 or the idle speed drops lower than desired and/or fluctuates. The idle speed concern can be intermittent and DTCs P2111/P2112 may or may not be present.

Funky Idle

This bulletin applies to 2010-2011 Ford Flex, 2010 Edge, MKX, F-150, E-Series Focus, Taurus, MKS, Fusion and MKZ vehicles with any of the following engines: 2.0L. 3.5L (excluding GTDI), 3.7L and 4.6L 2V. Some vehicles may exhibit DTCs P2111, P2112 or the idle speed drops lower than desired and/or fluctuates.

Out of Focus

Some 2008-2011 Ford Focus vehicles may exhibit a whine, howl or groan noise from an intermediate shaft bearing with the vehicle in motion. This may be due to moisture getting past the bearing seals.

Focus on the Small Stuff

Some 2011-2013 Ford Focus vehicles may exhibit an excessive engine vibration at idle, most noticed when the transmission is engaged in reverse. This condition is caused by small stones or other road debris packed into the rear engine roll restrictor.

Another Focus glitch

Some 2012-2014 Ford Focus vehicles equipped with reverse park aid sensors and built on or before 8-16-2013 may exhibit the IPC message center display indicating Rear Park Aid On/Off while driving forward after shifting from reverse.

Remote start glitch

Some 2013 Ford Focus vehicles equipped with the 2.0L GDI (gasoline direct injection) engine and with Intelligent Access remote start feature, and built on or before 4-1-2013, may exhibit DTC P025A/U0109/P0103 stored in the powertrain control module memory.

Focus on the noise

Some 2012-2013 Ford Focus vehicles built on or before 10-22-12 may exhibit a crunching or creaking type noise from the front suspension on low speed turns over bumps.

Funky Focus

Some 2012-2013 Ford Focus vehicles built on or before 2-6-2013 may exhibit an inoperative IPC on engine startup.
