GM Warns About Oily Air Filters

General Motors notes that the use of an aftermarket oil-bath air filter that is excessively over-oiled may result in any of the following:

GM Power Assist Recall

This bulletin applies to 2014-2018 GMC Sierra 1500 and 2015-2-18 Yukon vehicles. General Motors is recalling certain vehicles because the amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time.

GMC Rear Hub Nut

Certain 2017-2018 GMC Sierra HD vehicles may have a condition in which the rear wheel hub nut could become loose due to the rear wheel hub nut retainer not being formed properly.

Bad Box

This bulletin applies to 2018 GMC Canyon trucks equipped with a 2.5L engine and Terrain vehicles equipped with a 2.0L or 1.5L engine. On some vehicles, an electrical connection in the circuit board may fail in the engine control module.

ABS-Related Recall

GM is recalling certain 2015-2020 GMC Yukon vehicles equipped with a 5.3L engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel-drive. If a wheel speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is travelling between 41 mph and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mod, the EBCM (electronic brake control module) software may activate the driveline protection system.

Canyon Pinion Angle

Owners of 2015-2018 GMC Canyon vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engine and 8L45 automatic transmission may comment about a vibration and/or noise heard during hard acceleration at speeds of 48-52 mph. The condition may be caused when the driveline angle gets extreme during axle wind-up, resulting in 2nd order vibration.

Hot Heater Cord

GM is recalling certain 2019 GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 trucks equipped with a Duramax 6.6L diesel engine and optional engine block heater.

Wet Headlamp Causing Problems

Water intrusion into the headlamp assemblies or the headlamp assembly connections may lead to a dead battery in 2019 GMC 1500 Limited and 2016-2018 Sierra vehicles.
