Preventive maintenance

Every vehicle requires periodic maintenance (preventive maintenance) to avoid problems. The same holds true for certain tools and shop equipment. Lifts should be inspected annually, office and shop computers require updates, torque wrenches require periodic calibration, pneumatic tools require in-line lubrication to prevent dry running and lockups. Fuel According to GM

Apparently, General Motors does not endorse, support or acknowledge the need for fuel injector cleaning as a preventive maintenance procedure. According to GM, fuel injector cleaning is approved only when performed as directed by a published GM driveability or DTC diagnostic service procedure.
