Some 2016-2017 Toyota Tacoma vehicles equipped with a 2GR-FKS engine may exhibit and engine idle surge with steering input when the vehicle is operated at idle creep speed, when the steering wheel is turned when backing up or in parking lot maneuvers, and when the engine temperature is low.
According to Toyota, the fix involves reprogramming the ECM using software version 13.20.018 or later.
