Owners of 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, 2015-2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2018-2020 Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles may notice a detent/click at about three-fourths of the way through accelerator pedal travel, with a feel of increased resistance. The accelerator pedal design was changed for vehicles equipped with an eight-speed and 10-speed transmission.

The new pedal design has a built-in detent position near the last one-fourth of pedal travel.

The detent provides tactile feedback to minimize transmission downshifting allowing for improved fuel economy and smoother operation. When pressing through the detent, the transmission will downshift aggressively.
