This bulletin applies to 2009-2015 Volkswagen Tiguan vehicles. When diagnosing DTC P0171, monitor MVB 32, field 2 (long term fuel trims). If fuel trims read 15-20%, take a fuel sample and check alcohol content.
If it is necessary to pump out the fuel tank and replace fuel, note that all Tiguans have saddle style fuel tanks. Both sides of the fuel tank must be pumped out as a result.
Removing the rear seat will provide access to both the passenger and driver side.
