This bulletin applies to 2015 and later Porsche Cayenne (excluding S E-Hybrid). The issue may involve not being able to change from the default setting of “on” in Auto Start Stop.

In prior model years the Auto Start Stop function was set to the last mode when the same key was used in the vehicle. For example, if Key 1 was used and Auto Start Stop was turned off when the vehicle was last used, when Key 1 is used again to start the vehicle, the Auto Start Stop function was still off.

Now, Auto Start Stop will always default to “on” whenever the vehicle is started. This function cannot be changed by recoding the vehicle with the PIWIS Tester II, due to the fact that the vehicle was certified for emissions and fuel economy with Auto Start Stop activated.
