Chevy Police Vehicle Won't Cool Down

This bulletin applies to 2010-2014 Chevy Tahoe Police Pursuit vehicles equipped with police pursuit vehicle (PPV).

Under heavy use conditions, the passenger side underhood cooling fan assembly may be susceptible to repeated fluid intrusion, which could lead to corrosion of wiring inside the fan motor over time.

Remove the lower engine shield.

From underneath the vehicle, disconnect the electrical connector on the right-hand side cooling fan.

Visually inspect the metal cooling fan motor housing underneath the black plastic fan shroud for corrosion.

If corrosion is found, replace the cooling fan motor using P/N 20903477. According to Chevy, this is a temporary repair and these vehicles will require an additional repair when parts for the final remedy are available.
