Check for Missing Sealing Pins in BMW

This bulletin applies to BMW 3-series Sedans equipped with the B46 or B58 engine and built from August 2015 to November 2016. Due to possible missing sealing pins in the unused wiring slots of the DME connector A368*1B, moisture ingress could occur increasing the risk of corrosion or electrical shorts between pins.

The MIL may be on and various check control messages could be displayed indicating functional failures affecting dynamic stability control (DSC) and electronic power steering (EPS) systems. Inspect and rework or replace the DME connector harness section and DME. If corrosion/damage is found, replace the harness section and the DME.

If connections are clean and dry it is only necessary to inspect the connector for missing sealing pins and install replacements as needed.
