Jeep Wrangler Oil Temp Low After Idle

This bulletin applies to 2015 Jeep Wrangler vehicles built on or before March 16, 2015, equipped with the 3.6L engine and 6-speed manual transmission.

Engine oil temperature may be too low after an extended idle. The vehicle may also experience a perceived misfire under normal acceleration and the starter protection feature may be disabled. The MIL may be on, accompanied by DTC P1239 (engine oil temperature too low).

Using a scan tool, if DTCs other than P1239 are present, record and repair as needed. To address the concern, reprogram the PCM with the latest available software using level 15.04 or higher.
