This bulletin applies to 2019 and 2020 Ram 1500, 3500 and 4500/5500 vehicles. The bulletin involves inspecting the Julian date on the throttle body and possibly replacing it.
Customers may experience a MIL illumination. The technician may find DTC P2100 set (electronic throttle control motor circuit/open – Bank 1). The customer may also note that the truck is in limp home mode.
Inspect the throttle body for an “S1” or “S2”. If S2 is present, the correct throttle body is already installed. If S1 is present, inspect the Julian date.
If the four digit stamped Julian date on the front of the throttle body is on or between 2419-2549, proceed to the next step. If not, the correct throttle body is already installed.
Inspect for a green dot near the barcode on the throttle body housing. If a green dot is present, the bulletin is completed. If not, replace the throttle body and seal, and clear DTCs.
