Is Lincoln MKX Not in Park?

Some 2011-2015 Lincoln MKX vehicles built with a floor shift selector and push button start may exhibit a shift to park message “Transmission Not in Park” displayed while the shifter is in the park position, or unable to remove the integrated keyhead transmitter (KT), or a discharged battery due to the shift to park light remaining illuminated.

Refer to the service manual (on-line workshop manual section 307-05) to service the park detent switch.

A replacement shifter kit – park detent switch for the MKX is available under P/N GT4Z-3F988-B.
