Down on Power With Nissan

This bulletin applies to all Nissan vehicles equipped with an electric throttle chamber for example, 2015 Altima, where the customer complains of a lack or power/poor acceleration. First check for DTCs and address as needed. Check to see if the driver has a habit of resting his/her foot on the brake pedal while driving. Advise the customer not to rest their foot on the brake while accelerating.

Also, use Consult-III plus in Engine Data Monitor to check operation of the brake lamp circuit signal. Monitor the brake switch during the incident ... it should be “off.” Causes of the brake switch on condition can include an incorrectly adjusted brake switch or a damaged brake map wiring/circuit. Damage can cause a signal to the ECM to show on when it should be off.
