This bulletin applies to 2017-2019 Jeep Compass vehicles, involving reprogramming the HVAC control module with the latest available software.
The climate control may not maintain the temperature, SYNC, mode or blower fan settings after the vehicle has been shut off. Random settings will be displayed. Using a scan tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate diagnostic procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service Library, verify that all related systems are functioning as designed.
Address any DTCs before proceeding. Install a battery charger to maintain 13.2 – 13.5 volts during the flash process. Reprogram the HVAC control module with the latest software. Clear all DTCs. Using wiTECH, restore configuration and align proxy. This routine is available under the “Guided Diagnostics” tab found on the home “Vehicle View” page of wiTECH. Using the wiTECH, let all modules go to sleep for about 2 minutes.
Reconnect wiTECH and select proxy configuration alignment again and follow all prompts. Clear any DTCs that may have set.
